In the R&D Department we work on fascinating technologies, such as our Electroflex® films used in supercapacitors for automotive applications, or some urgent power supply units.  Another application for this groundbreaking techology is to be found in a method to clean or desalinate water.

Other product concepts we’ve been working on are almost ready for final testing before commercial launch.  One exciting project involves a highly microporous sheet that will be used by the Energy Industry.  We expect to launch this product in the second half of 2008. Strong, very high porosity membranes are of interest to the Aerospace and Defense industry as well.

We characterize, study and try to market each of the membrane’s unique properties. For example, one of our membrane’s oleophilicity and hydrophobicity can be used to adsorb gasoline and small oil spills – while leaving water alone.  Or the strength of UHMWPE’s extensive molecular chain entanglement can provide a strong media for high pressure water filtration.

The unique properties of our UHMWPE microporous membranes will provide a solid foundation for continued product development for years to come.  There is a world of functional fillers we have not yet explored.  There are special treatments and coatings to enhance the membranes’ inherent properties. The opportunities are endless.  Like you, we love this stuff.
